JULY 2024
WEEK THREE

Preschool

Jesus gives me joy.

Talk About the Bible Story

Be Joyful with Others
Romans 12:15

Paul writes that we can help people have joy by being a good friend.

MEMORY VERSE

“I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.”

Luke 2:10, ESV

Engagement Questions

  • Who gives you joy?
  • Who are your friends?

Prayer

"Dear God, thank You for teaching us how we can help our friends have joy. Please help us help our friends have joy by loving them like Jesus when they feel sad or happy. We love You, God. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”

ENGAGE IN EVERYDAY MOMENTS TOGETHER

Morning Time

When you go into your child’s room, cuddle them and say: "Good morning, [child's name]! Did you get plenty of sleep? Are you ready to be a good friend? Let's see how many people we can help have joy today."

Drive Time

While on the go, think of ways you can be a good friend. If a friend is sad, you can give them a hug. If a friend is happy, you can be happy with them. Talk about how we can help our friends have joy by being a good friend to them.

Cuddle Time

Cuddle with your child and pray: "God, I pray [child's name] and I will think more about others and how we can be a good friend. When a friend is sad, help us sit with them. When a friend is happy, help us be happy with them. We want to help others have joy the way Jesus gives us joy!"

Bath Time

Tell your child they can bring toy friends to bath time. As your child plays, say: "Do you know we can help our friends have joy? We can give our friends a hug when they are sad. (Hug a toy.) We can be happy with our friends when they are happy. (Give a toy a high-five.) When we love our friends the way Jesus loves us, we help them have joy!"
