Discipleship Kit:
- Parent Guide – Use this parent guide to help you walk through discipling your preschooler this week

Activities:
- Home Connection
- NEED: Activity Pages, crayons & markers
- DO: Encourage your children to color their world.
- SAY: “Hey, friends! Tell me, who made the earth and everything in it? (Pause.) That’s absolutely right! God did! And God gave us His Son, Jesus, to be our friend forever. Let’s color a picture of the earth. Cover the whole thing. (Pause.) You did a really nice job on your coloring. In our Bible story, Jesus told His friends He had a really important job for them to do. Jesus told them to go tell EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE that Jesus wants to be their friend forever! Jesus wants us to do that same important job! We can tell everyone that Jesus is alive and wants to be their friend forever. Who wants to be your friend forever? [Bottom Line] Jesus wants to be my friend forever.”
- Bath Time
- Grab some bath crayons and take turns drawing pictures on the tub. Each time one of you draws a picture, tell each other all about it. As you dry your child off, tell them that Jesus has something He wants us to go and tell. Jesus wants us to go and tell everyone everywhere that He loves them and He wants to be their friend forever!

Activities:
- Home Connection
- NEED: Activity Pages, happy face stickers & markers
- DO:Give each child a sheet and several happy face stickers. Encourage children to put a happy face sticker (or draw happy faces) around Jesus.
- SAY: “Come over and sit with me. What makes you happy? (Pause.) Those are all great things! When you’re happy and you know it, what does your face do? (Pause.) You smile! Everyone gets some of these happy face stickers that we’ll share with each other.” (Hand out the happy face stickers.) “Everyone gets some happy face stickers. When we love like Jesus, it makes us happy. Go to each friend’s paper and put one happy face sticker around the picture of Jesus. (Pause.) Make sure to put one sticker on each paper. (Pause.) Great job! Look at all those happy faces around Jesus! In our Bible story, Jesus’s friends wanted to love people like Jesus loved them, so they shared! They were super-sharers and shared anything that people needed. Jesus’ friends spent lots of time together. They ate, talked, and laughed together. They also praised God. This showed everyone that they were friends with Jesus. We can share with our friends so they know that Jesus loves them and wants to be their friend forever. Who wants to be your friend forever? [Bottom Line] Jesus wants to be my friend forever.”
- Cuddle Time
- Cuddle with your child this month and pray, “Dear God, (name of child) and I want to love people the way Jesus taught us to love people. Please help us see the needs of others and be willing to share our clothes, food, and home to help others. Thank You for giving us Jesus to be our friend forever, and teach us how to be a good friend. We love You, God. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

Core Insight: RESTORATION
Discipleship Kit:

- Story Video – Each week there will be a new Story Video to watch (from Orange Media)
- Memory Verse Song – Your preschooler will learn this month’s memory verse along with hand signals
Activities:
- Home Connection
- NEED: Activity Pages, dessert plates; craft sticks, tape, crayons, scissors, glue sticks, and sharpie
- DO: Encourage children to glue the end of the craft stick to the back of their plate as a handle. Put a piece or two of masking tape to help hold it to the plate. Flip the plate over and glue 2 fish to the plate. Write the Bible Verse on the stick.
- SAY: “Today we heard a story about Jesus and His friends, the disciples, having breakfast on the beach! Let’s make a frying pan to cook up some fish. Turn your plate over and glue your craft stick to the back of your plate. (Pause.) Add some tape to help it stick to the plate. (Pause.) Great! Flip it back over and glue some fish to your plate. (Pause.) Now let’s add the Bible Verse to your stick. Look at that! You’re ready to fry fish for breakfast on the beach! In our Bible story, when Jesus came back, He went to see His friends so He could spend time with them. The friends were out in the boat fishing when they saw Jesus standing on the shore. They were so excited to see Jesus that one of them jumped out of the boat and swam to shore! When all of the friends got to shore, Jesus was cooking breakfast for them. They all sat together, ate breakfast, and spent time together. Jesus loved His friends so much and wanted to show them that He would always be their friend, forever and ever. Jesus loves you and wants to be your friend forever, too! Who wants to be your friend forever? [Bottom Line] Jesus wants to be my friend forever.””
- Drive Time
- As you drive or take a walk, talk about how Jesus did special things for His friends, the disciples, like make them breakfast on a beach. Next, talk about things you both can do to be a good friend. Jesus wants to be our friend forever and He wants us to be a good friend, too.

- NEED: Activity Pages, crayons, stickers, crepe paper, scissors, glue sticks, and sharpie
- DO: Encourage children to decorate their kites with crayons and stickers. Add the Jesus sticker to the kite then have children glue the streamers to the tail of their kite.
- SAY: "Hello, friends! Today is Easter! It’s a very special day! Our Bible story tells about God’s love for us. God’s love for us is higher than the highest mountain—higher than a kite can fly. God’s love is bigger and wider than we can even hold. God’s love goes deeper than the deepest ocean. Let’s make a kite! Use the crayons and stickers to decorate your kite any way you want. (Pause.) Super-duper! Now add Jesus to your kite. (Pause.) Great! Now all we need to do is add the tails to the kite. Glue the streamers to the bottom point of the kite. (Pause.) Now you have a super special kite. One night, Jesus was having dinner with his very best friends. He told them He had to go away but that He would come back. After dinner, Jesus went to the garden to pray, and some angry people came and took Him away. They hurt Jesus, and He died. Jesus’ friends were so sad. They put Jesus’ body in a tomb with a big stone in front of it. Three sad days went by. On the third day, when some of Jesus’ friends went to the tomb, they saw that the big stone had been rolled away. Jesus was not there. Jesus had come back, just like He said He would. Jesus is alive! Be happy today because it’s Easter and Jesus is alive, and He wants to be our friend forever! Who wants to be your friend forever? [Bottom Line] Jesus wants to be my friend forever.”

This week: The crowd shouts "Hosanna" and spreads coats and palm branches on the road when they see Jesus. Matthew 21:1-16
MARCH 28th PRESCHOOL CURRICULUM
“Love each other as I have loved you.” John 15:12, NIV
Bottom Line: I CAN LOVE LIKE JESUS
This week: The crowd shouts "Hosanna" and spreads coats and palm branches on the road when they see Jesus. Matthew 21:1-16
Core Insight: TRANSFORMATION
Discipleship Kit:
- Parent Guide – Use this parent guide to help you walk through discipling your preschooler this week
- Story Video – Each week there will be a new Story Video to watch (from Orange Media)
- Memory Verse Song – Your preschooler will learn this month’s memory verse along with hand signals
Activities:
- Home Connection
- NEED: Activity Pages, crayons, markers, scissors, hole punch, and yarn
- DO: Encourage children to decorate their car front and back. Tie one length of yarn to the front and back of the car on one side and the other length of yarn to the front and back of the car on the other side. Write child’s name on their car. Hang over their shoulders like suspenders. Drive around the room, beep horn, and say, “Yay, Jesus!”
- SAY: “Friends, come sit with me. We’re going to make a car to drive around and celebrate Jesus. We have the front of the car with the license plate that says, ‘I can love like Jesus,’ and the back of the car with a license plate that says, ‘Yay, Jesus!’ Decorate both parts of your car. (Pause.) Nice job! Now, let me add the yarn to both sides. (Pause.) Okay, let’s put these on and drive around with me. (Pause.) Stop right here and shout, ‘Yay, Jesus!’ (Repeat.) Okay, let’s drive some more. (Pause.) Stop and shout, ‘Yay, Jesus!’ (Repeat.) Let’s keep driving. (Repeat as long as desired.) Park your cars right where you are. The people in our story were so excited to see Jesus that they waved their palm branches and shouted, ‘Hosanna! Hosanna! Yay, Jesus!’ But we don’t have to have a palm branch to celebrate Jesus. We can sing, we can dance, we can pray, and we can yell ‘Yay, Jesus!’ every day! The best way we can celebrate Jesus is to love like Him. Who can love like Jesus? [Bottom Line] I can love like Jesus.”
- Bath Time
- Add a toy person to bath time along with some extra wash cloths. Show your child how to spread the wash clothes along the edge of the tub and walk the toy person on top of the wash clothes. Talk about how Jesus rode a donkey into Jerusalem. The people were so excited they spread coats and leaves on the road for Jesus to ride over, and they shouted, "Hosanna! Hosanna! Yay Jesus!"

- SAY: “This month we’re learning that (point to the words at the top of the page) [Bottom Line] I can love like Jesus. There are so many ways we can show love like Jesus to the people around us. Let’s add a few hearts to the top of our page. You can put them right near the words. Can you think of some ways we can show love to others like Jesus loves us? Let’s share some ideas. (Pause as children answer.) Great answers! You can use the crayons to draw one way you can love like Jesus. WOW! Great job! These are all ways we can love like Jesus. I’m so glad to know that [Basic Truth] Jesus wants to be my friend forever. Jesus loves you and me SO very much. Tell me, who can love like Jesus? [Bottom Line] I can love like Jesus.”
- Drive Time
- As you drive or take a walk, look for people you can love like Jesus and name one way you can love them. Example: "I see our neighbor, Mr. John. We can love Mr. John by smiling and saying hello." - NEED: Activity Pages, scissors, and tap light or flash light
- DO: Gather your child around the Game Cards. Give your child a tap light or flashlight. Show them how to turn them on and off. Read the cards one at a time. If the action is loving like Jesus, your child will shine their light. If the action is not loving like Jesus, they will not shine their light.
- SAY: "We’re going to play a game with light! (Give your child a tap light or flashlight.) This is how you make your light shine. (Demonstrate.) Got it? Good! Listen, and I’ll tell you how to play the game. In our Bible story today, we learned that when we love others the way Jesus loves us, it’s like we shine a light everywhere we go. That light tells people that Jesus loves them and He wants to be their friend forever. I will read these game cards (hold up cards) one at a time. If what I read is a way we can love like Jesus, I want you to make your light shine. If what I read is not how we love like Jesus, then make sure your light is off. Let’s try it!” (Read the game cards. If the children are having fun and want to continue playing, mix the cards up and go through them again or create your own scenarios.) Jesus told us that the most important thing for us to do is love others the way He loves us. That’s why when I ask you, ‘Who can love like Jesus?, I want you to say [Bottom Line] ‘I can love like Jesus.’ Who can love like Jesus? [Bottom Line] I can love like Jesus. You sure can! - SAY: "We heard a really neat story today how Jesus loves, us no matter what we’ve done. The woman in our story was so happy and thankful that Jesus loved her. Let’s add some love to your picture. Jesus loves you just as much as He loved the woman in our story today. She came to where Jesus and the people were eating dinner. The people at the dinner knew this woman had made some bad choices and thought she shouldn’t be there. She sat down at Jesus’ feet and cried. She cried because Jesus had forgiven her, and she washed His feet with her tears. She dried His feet with her hair then poured perfume on them. Jesus knew everything the woman had done, and He could see how sorry she was and how much she loved Him. Jesus said, ‘Woman you are forgiven. Now go in peace.’ There is nothing you or I could ever do that would make Jesus stop loving us. Who loves you? [Bottom Line] Jesus loves me.”
- Bath Time
- Let your child pick some toy friends to bathe. Show your child how to wet them with water and then dry them. Talk about how the woman in the Bible story wet Jesus' feet with her tears and then dried them with her hair. She was so thankful that Jesus loved her no matter what.
