Activities:
- Home Connection
- NEED: No supplies needed
- DO: Before the Activity: Gather the child in an open area of the room with you. During the Activity:Encourage the child to do the following movements which can be hard for preschoolers: stand on one foot, pat tummy and head at the same time, close eyes and touch toes, and run in place for one minute. After the Activity: Talk about how we’ll hear a Bible story about someone who had to do something hard.
- Say: Before the Activity: “Friend, join me over here.” During the Activity: “Today, we’ll do some movements that are hard. It’s okay if you can’t do them all, but let’s give it a try! The first hard thing that we can do is stand on one foot like this. (Demonstrate.) Try to keep your balance! Wow, this is hard! Next, let’s try to pat our tummies and the top of our heads at the same time! (Continue with the different movements.) You are great at doing hard things!”
After the Activity: “Sometimes, we have to do hard things. Today, we’ll hear a Bible story about someone who had to do something hard.”
- Drive Time
- While on the go, look for different kinds of transportation (buses, motorcycles, trucks, airplanes, taxi cabs, bicycles, etc.). Pick one, and every time you see it, say: "I can love like Jesus anywhere," because Paul loved like Jesus on a ship.

Activities:
- Home Connection
- NEED: Sheet pans and foam blocks
- DO: Before the Activity: : Gather with child around the table. During the Activity:Encourage the child to build a tower with blocks on the sheet pan. Once one tower is built, say, “Oh, no! There’s an earthquake!” Then shake the sheet pan to make the tower topple over. Encourage the child to build a new tower and repeat. After the Activity: Talk about how we’ll hear a story about an earthquake that happened in the Bible.
- Say: Before the Activity: ““Friend, come find a spot around the table.” During the Activity: “I want us to work together to build a tower on these pans. (Pause.) Wow, you built a great tower! (Start shaking the pans.) Oh, no! There’s an earthquake! An earthquake happens when the whole ground shakes. Let’s rebuild the tower. (Repeat as desired.) That was crazy to watch the ground shake and make the tower topple over.”
After the Activity: “Today, we’ll hear what happened with an earthquake in our Bible story.”
- Cuddle Time
- Cuddle with your child and pray: "God, sometimes we don't feel happy. Sometimes we feel like whining and crying. But we're learning that when Jesus is our friend forever, Jesus gives us the power to choose joy no matter what. Help [name of child] and me remember that Jesus is with us and will help us choose joy."

Activities:
- Home Connection
- NEED: Red or pink posterboard, marker, and scissors
- DO: Before the Activity: Draw a large heart on the poster board and cut out. Then cut the large heart into four large puzzle pieces. During the Activity: Set the puzzle pieces on the floor of your activity area and encourage the child to complete the puzzle. Celebrate with them when they finish. After the Activity: Talk about how we’ll hear a story about God’s special gift for us.
- Say: Before the Activity: “Friend, look at these big puzzle pieces! Let’s help each other put it together. I wonder what the shape will be.” During the Activity: “Great job of helping put the puzzle together. What did the puzzle make? That’s right! It’s a heart. Hearts remind me of love. Let’s mix the pieces up and see how fast we can put the puzzle together this time. (Repeat as desired.) That was fun! I like working on puzzles with my friends.”
After the Activity: “God loves us SO much that He gave us a special gift we’ll hear about in our Bible story today.”
- Morning Time
- When you go into your child’s room, say: "Good morning, [child's name]! God gave us the best gift ever, and His name is Jesus."

Activities:
- Home Connection
- NEED: Facial tissues
- DO: Before the Activity: Ask child to stand on one side of the room. During the Activity: Place a single tissue on the child’s head. Instruct the child to walk across the room while trying to keep the tissue on their head. When the tissue falls off, encourage the child to put the tissue back on their heads and continue. After the Activity: Talk about how in today’s story, we’ll hear about someone who is always with us.
- Say: Before the Activity: “Friend, line up beside me. I have a fun game for us to play today.” During the Activity: “Do you think this tissue will stay on your head as you walk to the other side of the room? Watch me. (Demonstrate.) When it’s your turn, I will place this tissue on your head, and you will walk to the other side of the room, Try to keep the tissue on your head, just like I did. [Child’s name], let’s give it a try. (Pause.) Remember, it’s okay if the tissue falls off. Place it back on your head and keep going. (Pause.) Wow! Great Job!” (Repeat as desired.)
After the Activity: “Raise your hand if your tissue fell off while you were walking. (Look for responses.) Yes, we lost our tissues a lot, didn’t we? In our Bible story today, we will hear about someone who is always with us. We will never lose Him. Let’s go find out who it is!”
- Bath Time
- Add some toy cars (or any toy) to bath time. Show your child how to make them follow each other all around the tub. Talk about how Jesus wants us to follow Him and be His friend forever!

- Home Connection
- NEED: Cardstock in three different colors, scissors, and painter’s tape
- DO: Before the Activity: Cut 12 large hearts from the cardstock, four of each color. Lay out the heart cutouts. During the Activity: Ask the child to stand around the outside of the heart grid. Call on the Child to place a hand or foot on a certain color heart. Repeat until the child has at least one hand or foot on the board. Then ask the child to step off the grid and play again if time allows. After the Activity: Talk about how we’ll hear a story about how Jesus loves everyone.
- Say: Before the Activity: “Friend, gather here with me! Do you see these hearts? I have a game for us to play with them. Let's play!” During the Activity: "[Child’s name], place a hand on a [color] heart. (Pause.) Good job! Now, [child’s name], put your foot on a [color] heart. Do you have a foot and hand on the game board? (Pause.) Awesome! That was so fun! Let’s play again! (Repeat as desired.) Great job, friend.”
After the Activity: “These hearts make me think about how Jesus loves everyone! In our Bible story today, we’ll hear about a friend of Jesus named Peter.”
- Drive Time
- While on the go, talk about ways we can love everyone the way Jesus loves everyone. We can say kind words, share what we have, help people, pray for people—all of these are ways we can love like Jesus.

- Home Connection
- NEED: Red, yellow, green, and blue construction paper; scissors; and painter’s tape
- DO: Before the Activity: Cut out one large heart from each color of construction paper. Tape to different walls or places in the activity area at preschooler height. During the Activity: Instruct the child to stand in the middle of the activity area. Call out a color and encourage the child to run to that color. Call out another color and have child run there. Continue with each color and repeat as desired. After the Activity: Talk about how in our story, we’ll hear about Jesus sending someone to help.
- Say: Before the Activity: “Friend, come stand with me. Look around the room. There is a red heart (point to the red heart), a yellow heart (point to the yellow heart), a green heart (point to the green heart), and a blue heart (point to the blue heart). Let’s play a game.” During the Activity: "I’ll send you to a different heart by calling out the color. When you hear the color, then you may run to that heart. Ready, set move! Yellow heart! (Pause.) Great job! Ready, set move! Green heart! (Continue with each color and repeat as desired.) Awesome work! You all went exactly where I sent you!”
After the Activity: “Today, we’ll hear a Bible story about how Jesus sent someone to help Paul!”
- Cuddle Time
- Cuddle with your child and pray: "God, thank You for all of the people you send to help us, like (name people who help you and your child)."

- DO: Before the Activity: : Ask the child to come in front of you in an open area of the room. During the Activity: Instruct child to do movements like jump, clap, turn around, etc. Then encourage the child with the help of an adult to take turns trying the same movements with his/her eyes closed. Note: It’s okay if the child does not want to close their eyes. After the Activity: Talk about how we’ll hear a story about a man named Paul who saw a bright light that made his eyes not see.
- Say: Before the Activity: “Hello, friend! It’s great to see you today! Come stand in front of me. (Pause.) We’re going to move our bodies!” During the Activity: “I’ll call out a movement, and I want you to try it. Ready, set, jump! Jump up and down. (Pause.) Great job! Ready, set, clap your hands. (Pause.) Awesome! (Continue with different motions.) Fantastic! “This time, we’ll try the same movements with our eyes closed, and I will help you. [Child’s name], stand up and hold my hand. Now close your eyes and jump up one time. (Pause.) Great job! Was it harder to jump with your eyes open or closed? (Pause.) Yes! It’s much harder to jump with your eyes closed. You did a great job of listening and moving with your eyes open and with them closed!”
After the Activity: “Today in our story, we’ll hear about a man named Paul who saw a bright light then his eyes couldn’t see! I can’t wait to hear more about Paul.”

Activities:
- Home Connection
- NEED: Preschool-safe tea set and a large blanket
- DO: Before the Activity: : Lay the blanket in the activity area. Place the tea set on the blanket. During the Activity: Invite the child to sit on the blanket with you. Ask the child if they would like to have some pretend tea, then serve the child. Allow the child to serve you and have a tea party. After the Activity: Talk about how there is a woman who gives a man and his camels a drink of water in today’s Bible story.
- Say: Before the Activity: “Hello, friend! Come sit on the blanket with me.” During the Activity: “Let’s have a tea party! I want to make sure everyone has a drink. Will you help me pour the tea? We can take turns pouring the tea for each other. (Pause.) That was yummy tea! It’s nice to have a drink when you’re thirsty. Let’s keep playing!” After the Activity: “Today in our Bible story, we’ll hear about a woman who helped get water for a man and his camels.”
- Bath Time
- Add bubbles and toys to bath time. Tell your child to close their eyes. Drop the toys in the water. Next, tell your child to open their eyes and LOOK for the toys. (Repeat the game.) At the end of bath time, talk about how God made us to LOOK for ways we can help. When we LOOK, we will always find ways to help.

During the Activity: Ask the child to do several different movements by saying “Show me that you can [action].” The movements are hopping on one foot, running in place, smiling, giving a hug, touching toes, and star jumping. After the Activity: Talk about how today’s Bible story has a young man who showed others how to love like Jesus.
- Say: Before the Activity: “Hello, friend! Come over here. Today, I want you to show me what you can do. I will call out a movement, and you can show me what you can do!” During the Activity: “Show me you can hop on one foot! (Pause.) That is fantastic! Show me you can run in place. (Pause.) Awesome! Show me you can smile. (Pause) Bee-u-t-i-ful! Show me you can touch your toes! (Pause.) Nice! (Continue with different simple actions.) WOW! Great job!” After the Activity: “Thank you for showing me all that you can do! Today in our Bible story, we’ll hear about a young man named Timothy who showed others how to love like Jesus.”

- While on the go, name helper qualities you see in your child (kindness, strength, generosity, etc.) and how they can use them to help others (encourage a sad person, carry something for someone, share with a person who has a need, etc.).

This week: Four friends help carry a man to see Jesus because he cannot walk.
Insight: COMPASSION
Discipleship Kit:
- Parent Guide – Use this parent guide to help you walk through discipling your preschooler this week

- Memory Verse Video – Your preschooler will learn this month’s memory verse along with hand signals
Activities:
- Home Connection
- NEED:Foam or cardboard blocks and painter’s tape
- DO: Before the Activity: Tape a simple house shape with a distinct roof and door on the floor. Make sure to have enough blocks to make the house and adjust your outline to fit. During the Activity: Encourage the child to line the tape with the blocks to build the house, making sure to line the door and roof as well. Have the child help you identify where the roof and the door are. If desired, have the child stand in the house to see how crowded it becomes with everyone inside. After the Activity: Talk about how we’ll hear a story about some friends who went to see Jesus but the house He was in was full of people.
- Say: Before the Activity: Before the Activity: “Hello, friend! Come on over. I have a job for us to do! During the Activity: “What is this outline on the floor? (Pause.) That’s right! It’s a house! Can you help me build the house with these blocks? (Pause.) Great! Let’s follow the tape line and lay the blocks along it. (Pause.) Great job! What is this part of the house called? (Point to the roof.) This is the roof of the house. What is this part of the house called? (Point to the door.) This is the door to the house. You go in and come out through the door. Wow! What a great builder you are! Thank you so much for helping me today.” After the Activity: “Let’s see if we can all fit inside the house. (Pause.) It’s really full and cramped with us inside, isn’t it? Today is our story, we’ll hear about some friends who went to see Jesus but the house He was in was so full of people you couldn’t get through the door! I wonder if they got to see Jesus. Let’s find out in our story today!”

- Cuddle with your child and pray: "God, thank You for our friends...[name some friends]. Thank You for how they help us and for how we can help them."
