Yes, it’s Moses, and he’s holding his staff. Let’s color the page. What happened when Moses hit the rock with his staff? (Pause.) That’s right! Water for the people to drink came from the rock. Let’s color the rock with our blue marker as the water. These look beautiful! Only God is powerful enough to get water from a rock! Who is powerful? [Bottom Line] God is powerful. Great job, friends!”

This is a picture of when God told Moses to hold his staff out over the water and God split the water in two and made a dry path down the middle. Color the dry path, then color the water part and add some fish stickers. (Pause.) Nice! Now slide these two fingers through the holes in your Moses puppet like this. (Demonstrate.) Now you can walk Moses through the dry path. (Pause.) Awesome! After Moses led the people out of Egypt and into the desert, they were stuck between the water and Pharaoh’s soldiers. But Moses reminded them that God is powerful and He would tell them what to do. And He did! God told Moses to hold his staff over the water then God split the water in two and made a dry path down the middle for the people to walk to the other side. God is awesome and powerful! Who is powerful? [Bottom Line] God is powerful.”

God created the world from nothing. He made the plants, animals, trees, sun, and the ocean all from His power. Then, God made His most amazing creation: people! God made us creative, smart, and to be good helpers. God made us all different shapes, sizes, and colors. He made each of us different, and we are all wonderful! “Trust in the Lord with all your heart.” Proverbs 3:5, NIV
Bottom Line: I can trust God.
This week: We can trust God because nothing can ever separate us from His love. Romans 8:38-39
Core Insight: TRANSFORMATION
Discipleship Kit:

- Memory Verse Song – Your preschooler will learn this month’s memory verse along with hand signals
Activities:

- NEED: Activity Page, crayons & markers
- DO: Encourage children to color and decorate their frame.
- SAY: “Come sit at the table and decorate a frame with me. Look at your frame and point to the great big heart in the corner. (Pause.) That heart says, ‘I can trust God.’ Now put your heart stickers all around the frame. (Pause.) Super-duper! When you get home, you can put a picture of yourself in the frame. God loves you forever, always, no matter what. God loves you when you’re happy, sad, or grumpy. He loves you if you’re at your grandma’s or at the doctor. God loves you all the time. You can trust God because nothing will ever separate you from God’s love. Who can trust God? [Bottom Line] I can trust God.”
- Bath Time
- Add a few colors of bathtub finger paint to bath time. It's fun and a great way to talk about how nothing can separate us from God's love. Tell your child to mix two of the colors, for example, blue and yellow. Ask them what color they made (green). Then tell your child to separate the green back into blue and yellow. Tell them that's how God's love is. NOTHING can separate us from God's love.

Activities:
- Home Connection
- NEED: Activity Page, aluminum foil, glue, scissors & sharpie
- DO: Copy Activity page and cut aluminum foil into pieces a little larger than the shields. Encourage the children to glue the foil on their shield. Write this month’s Bible verse on the front.
- SAY: “We’re going to make a shield. Glue the foil to the shield cutout. (Pause.) Super! Now, let’s add the memory verse. (Pause.) Hold up your shields and say the memory verse with me. ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart,’ Proverbs 3:5. (Repeat.) Nice job, friends!”We learned in our Bible story that God gives us armor to put on each day to help us remember to trust God and go His way. A helmet is worn on a soldier’s head. It helps us remember that Jesus is our friend forever. A breastplate is worn on a soldier’s chest. When we choose to go God’s way, it’s like we wear a breastplate to protect our hearts. A shield is held up to block a soldier from things that might hurt them. God says when we trust Him, it’s like we hold up a shield to protect us. We always want to remember to trust God. We also have the Bible, which is God’s word. We can read it every day, and it will teach us how to go God’s way. God’s way is the best way so you can trust God. Who can trust God? [Bottom Line] I can trust God.”
- Cuddle Time
- Cuddle and pray, "Dear God, thank You for giving us armor to stand strong. When we remember that Jesus is our friend forever, it’s like putting on a helmet. When we choose to go Your way, it’s like wearing a breastplate to keep our heart safe. When we trust You, it’s like holding up a shield to protect us. And we have the Bible to teach us how to go Your way. We love You. In Jesus' name, amen."

Let’s say our verse together. ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart,’ Proverbs 3:5. These colorings are beautiful. I’m so glad that Jesus showed us how to trust God. God loves me, and God loves you. - SAY: “
- In our Bible story, we heard God is always with us. God sent an angel to keep Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego safe in the furnace. Let’s make a picture of the furnace. Add add some color to your plate to make it look like the furnace. (Pause.) This is the fire in the furnace. Now glue this picture in the middle of your plate. Who do you see in the picture? Yes, it’s Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, and the angel. (Pause.) Great job! There they are, safe in the fire. King Nebuchadnezzar thought he was a great king and built a huge statue. He wanted everyone to bow down to it when music played. But Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were friends of God, and they knew that they should not bow down to anyone other than the one true God. The king got mad and threw Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego into the fire. They weren’t alone. There was a fourth person in the fire with them. God sent an angel to keep them safe. When the king saw they were not hurt, he called them out of the fire. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego trusted God. God was with them and saved them. We can trust that God is with us. Who can trust God? [Bottom Line] I can trust God.”
- Morning Time
- When you go into your child's room, say, "Good morning! Raise both hands high in the air if you're ready to make it a great day!" Raise both of your hands and then say, "Whatever happens today, we know we can trust God, right? Right!" Give your child a fist bump or a high five.

Activities:
- Home Connection
- NEED: Activity Pages and crayons
- DO: Encourage the children to color the activity pages while reviewing today’s Bible Story.
-
- SAY: “Today’s true story from the Bible begins with a man named Elijah. Elijah was a friend of God. He loved God and knew God can do anything. That’s why Elijah trusted God. But the king of the land, King Ahab, did not trust God. King Ahab believed in a pretend God. He even had a big statue of him. The king had a lot of people who told him over and over that his pretend god had super powers and that his statue could do anything. The king thought that was great. But Elijah knew that it was NOT great. Elijah knew that there is only one true God and everyone needed to know. So, Elijah said to the king, ‘Hey, king, let’s do a test. We will each set up an altar then we will pray. The god who starts a fire on the altar is the real God—the one true God. Everyone agreed, and Elijah let King Ahab go first. So, King Ahab and his big group of people prayed to their pretend god. They shouted, but the pretend god did not send fire. So Elijah said, ‘Maybe he’s sleeping. Maybe you should shout louder.’ And that’s what King Ahab and his people did. They shouted louder and louder, but their pretend god still didn’t answer with fire. Now it was Elijah’s turn. Elijah trusted God and believed that God can do anything. So, Elijah went to the altar. He had people pour water all over it so it would be really hard to light on fire, then he prayed to God. God, we believe You are the one true God. We believe You can do anything! Show Your power God so all the people here can see that You are the one true God and You have the power to do anything. And guess what happened? God did it! God sent fire down on the wet altar, then everyone knew that God is the one true God! Wow! God is SO powerful! God can do anything! When we remember that God can do anything, it helps us trust God. [Bottom Line] I can trust God, and you can trust God."
- Bath Time
- As you bathe your child, ask them, "Can you blow bubbles in the water? Can you tap the top of the water with your hands? Can you scoop and pour the water? Can you put your head under the water?" Then say, "Wow! You can do a lot of things. But guess what! God can do ANYTHING! It's true! That's one of the reasons we can trust God. God can do anything!"

“I trust in God, I am not afraid.” Psalm 56:11, NIrV
Bottom Line: I can trust God.
This week: God uses Gideon to do big things, even though he and his army are small.
Core Insight: TRANSFORMATION
Discipleship Kit:

- Story Video – Each week there will be a new Story Video to watch (from Orange Media)
- Memory Verse Song – Your preschooler will learn this month’s memory verse along with hand signals
Activities:
- Home Connection
- NEED: Activity Pages, craft sticks, yellow/orange/red crayons or markers, brown crayons or markers, scissors, and glue.
- DO: Encourage the children to fill the flames with the red, yellow and orange markers or crayons. Color the jar with brown crayons or markers. Glue the craft stick to the back of the torch. Help the children to attach the jar pieces to each side of the torch.
-
- SAY: “Today, we heard a Bible story about Gideon and his super-small army and how they trusted God. Color the flame of your torch red, yellow, and orange. (Pause.) Great! Now color the jar brown. (Pause.) Glue your craft stick to the torch. (Pause.) Now we’ll cover your torch with the jar. (Pause.) We’ll use your craft as we review our Bible story. Today in our Bible story, God told Gideon to take his small army and fight the really big Midianite army. Gideon didn’t think he should be the one to lead God’s army, but he trusted God and did what He told him to do. Gideon told each soldier to take a trumpet, a torch, and a jar and follow him. They snuck into the Midianite camp. When Gideon told them to, they blew their trumpets, broke their jars, and yellowed ‘For the Lord, and for Gideon!’ Friends, break your jars to show your torch. (Pause.) Now with your torches held high say, ‘For the Lord, and for Gideon!’ (Repeat.) The Midianites ran away, and God’s army won! Gideon’s small army beat the big Midianite big army. You are never too small to trust God. You can trust God, and I can trust God. Who can you trust? [Bottom Line] I can trust God.”
- Cuddle Time
- Cuddle with your child this month and pray, "Dear God, thank You for loving us and using us in Your plan. It doesn't matter how big or small we are. It's all about You and what You can do.
